A bit about our school

Mount Barker South Primary School is located in Princes Road, Mount Barker . The school was opened in 1980 and since that time has undergone a number of transformations as the nature of Mount Barker itself has changed to the growing town that we see today.

There are currently about 200 children attending the school. There are 8 mainstream classes and two District Special Small classes catering for children from the age of 5 years to the time when they enter secondary school - typically as they turn 13.

If your child turns 5 before 1st May, they will start school in Term 1 that year. If your child turns 5 on or after 1st May, they will start school in Term 1 the following year. Children generally complete Primary Education at Mt Barker South before moving to Secondary School. Most children move to Mt Barker High School but a number attend other schools as well.

The school is located in expansive and beautiful grounds that change in appearance from season to season.
